The The Blue Ox MooseTour - In the Shadow of Mt. Katahdin
Dates: September 26- October 1, 2010
Cost: $605.00 per person
Booking Deadline: July 30, 2010
Tired of drive-by-shootings of moose on the shoulder of the road? Yearning for calendar moose images in genuine wilderness settings? Then join me at Baxter State Park in the heart of Maine’s north woods, literally in the shadow of Mt. Katahdin, to bag trophy moose (with our cameras).
Between the field work, you’ll get a taste of north woods character and hospitality, from warm muffins and cookies delivered directly to your cozy cabin to the frontier atmosphere of the Blue Ox pub. To be sure, Millinocket Maine is no Bar Harbor.
The locations we’ll visit are the moosiest outside of Alaska and your chances of coming home with a gallery-quality moose photo are about 85% or only slightly better than running into a lumberjack at the Blue Ox.
In the evening, after we’ve run out of light, we’ll take some time to examine our efforts on our laptops and I’ll demonstrate basic digital workflow techniques. And, of course, I’ll be there photographing by your side should you have questions about the field techniques pros use to capture publishable and award-winning wildlife images.
